Missionary Jennifer Rice (MTS 2016) Returns to Campus
The HCHC community was delighted to welcome back Jennifer Rice recently while she was on furlough from her work as a missionary in the Guatemalan village of Aguacate under the auspices of the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC). During her days on campus, Jennifer spoke to students about her experience as a missionary at Vespers and at an evening event hosted by the students' Missions Committee. Faculty and Students Attend Conference on Missions and Evangelism
HCHC was well represented at the National Conference on Missions and Evangelism held February 3-5, 2020, at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus, Ohio. The theme of the conference, which was made possible by a grant from Leadership 100, was "Leading Change Toward a Healthier Parish." Fr. Jim Kordaris (MDiv 1999), the Director of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Stewardship, Outreach, and Evangelism, worked with Fr. Fr. Maximos Lectures on the Fathers in New York and Kansas
On January 30, the V. Rev. Dr. Maximos Constas, Interim Dean and Senior Research Scholar at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, was the keynote speaker at a celebration of the Feast of the Three Hierarchs and Greek Letters Day. The event was sponsored by the Greek Education Office of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York City. Fr. Archbishop Appoints Dr. Maria Koulmanda to HCHC Board
His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America has appointed Maria Koulmanda, PhD, to the Hellenic College Board of Trustees. Dr. Koulmanda is Chair of the Maliotis Center Committee of the Board of Trustees of Hellenic College and former Secretary of the Friends of the Maliotis Cultural Center. The committee was formed last fall upon the successful resolution of the legal issues between the Center and the school, thanks in large part to His Eminence's intervention.
